On Friday April 26, 2019, the Ministry of Interior in Cyprus announced that it may be allowing an extension of 60-90 days beyond the May 15, 2019 deadline for investors to submit their applications for Naturalization by exception.
This is a nonofficial announcement where details are yet to be provided by the Ministry of Interior in Cyprus. An extension may be offered to the May 15, 2019 deadline that was announced on February 14, 2019. The essence of the extension is that an investor who signs and deposits his/her purchase agreement at the land registry of Cyprus before the 15th of May 2019, will have an additional 60-90 days to submit his / her complete application for citizenship to the Ministry of Interior while enjoying the existing rules of the programme.
The extension is aimed at allowing investors to procure the relevant documentation and the submission in time before the changes take effect.
